Greetings!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see us. Please take time to explore our new website, find new opportunities or information you’ve not seen before. Please be encouraged to let us know if you found the new site a successful source for what you were looking for.
Our rebrand/refresh has been launched intentionally to position us to be an access point for information during challenging times. While it is very true, due to the pervasive and continued budget cuts all nonprofits are experiencing, and that there is an uncertainty about the future as to whether any of us will be able to continue offering the many different types of services each county needs to help care for children, families, and elders; IFSN intends to lean into the challenges ahead.
The impact of current or future cuts or cancellations of food and nutrition resources, physical and mental health care, substance treatment programs, and certainly access to affordable housing, will be devastating, and long-lasting. The sheer size of the challenges we have yet to face may potentially be beyond anything we saw during Covid 19.
So with all of that uncertainty in mind, why do we choose to embrace the road ahead instead of focusing on loss and closures? Because it also gifts us with the opportunity to rise and do more, for more: protect more people, save more lives, and lift more people up out of poverty so that they can raise their children in safe environments. We want each person to be able to flourish as a member of society, and we want to provide hope and encouragement that each person facing poverty can still live up to their full potential, or find peace, comfort, and safety in their later years. I mention this last reference because, surprisingly, it is elderly women who, studies show, will be the most increased vulnerable population moving forward over these next years.
WILL YOU JOIN US?
We would be very grateful for your willingness to volunteer, support one of our events, or houses, perhaps make a monthly donation, or provide simple things like bus tickets. Please visit us here and help us build solutions before the tsunami comes:
With Gratitude & Tenacity,
Jill Lowry – Chief Executive Officer
