Are you a Humanitarian?
A true Humanitarian does not see skin color, gender identity, faith choice, political party, the language spoken, the kind of clothes one wears, or whether a piece of paper indicates a human being is considered “illegal.”
Instead a humanitarian sees suffering, insult, injury, and indignity.

Below are the tiers offered:

A One Time Gift or Monthly Recurring
A One Time Gift or Monthly Recurring – It’s important to provide options so that everyone can make a difference.
- A one time gift of any amount $5.00 or Sky’s The Limit.
- A monthly recurring gift of $50 or more.
One of the most valuable gifts to any nonprofit is one that is unrestricted. Why? Because not many people understand how many things fall into this appearingly unexciting category. Things like equipment repairs, structural maintenance, yard work, training for staff when we embrace new populations, facility vehicle repairs, a grant writer, or equipment that allows us to make presentations to the community. The needs change from month to month and year to year, but because someone cannot point to one thing and say, I provided that, or helped with that, this area is usually overlooked.
However, reframing this opportunity, you are helping the foundation of the organization stay strong and resilient. It takes a special someone, to take to heart, just how imperative this type of gift actually is. Are you this person?

Adopt A Home
Become an annual sponsor for one of our fourteen houses. Each home generally provides transitional housing for 8 – 10 individuals up to six months as they transition to a sustainable, independent life. Individuals rotate into their permanent homes throughout the year. Sponsorships cover everything from toys, bedding, a new bunkbed, maintaining defensible, exterior fire-prevention space around the home, repairing a roof, replacing an appliance, etc. Each home has an account for these types of items, and they are extremely important for safety and a sense of normalcy, yet, the funding also is always very limited. Each of our homes provides support for specific populations.
You could be helping Families, Foster Youth, Santa Rosa Junior College Students, or those who are rebuilding their lives after successfully completing their incarceration. Moving into 2026, and with enough funding, you could be helping some of the most vulnerable of all: elderly in their 70s – 90s, our Veterans, or helping motivated, gang-impacted youth break free from the inevitable outcome, and find the life they were meant to live!
We will provide a plaque on the front door with the name/s of your choosing, acknowledgement on our website, and a framed certificate of appreciation that can be proudly displayed. You will also be invited in advance of the general public, to join us at one of our upcoming events, such as our Social Awareness Film Festival, our Hike 4 Housing, or one of our more intimate gatherings or receptions.

Never Enough Housing
There just is not enough truly affordable housing to go around. The most basic of needs… a roof over one’s head, a safe space with basic amenities, a door that locks, a bed that is not the ground, windows that let fresh air in, an actual, private, bathroom. Basic Right?
Yet for so many, not a reality.
IFSN owns three properties and leases the rest. For the homes we lease, we are responsible for rent, maintenance (sometimes even past deferred maintenance), repairs, damage, and upkeep. While this is all an accepted responsibility, we’d rather invest these funds in homes we own and not have to fear a lease coming to an end.
We are looking for legacy gifts of developable land (ideally with basic infrastructure), or a house you may have been left, but won’t use. Will you consider helping us increase access to permanent supportive, or transitional housing in Sonoma County, Lake County, Marin County, or Mendocino County and keeping those like vulnerable families and elders safe? Your gift will live on, helping people for years to come.
Who can be a part of the solution? Individuals, Corporations, Family Trusts, Civic Groups or Church or Faith Groups
